McCurtain County’s Riverbank Cabins are perfect for anyone planning a fishing or canoeing trip on Oklahoma’s Mountain Fork River. We are on the banks of the lower Mountain Fork River, below the Broken Bow Lake dam near Beavers Bend Resort Park. Since we are below the dam our stretch of river is always clear, cool, moving water all year round. In addition to the river our 300 acres has over 20 ponds stocked with bass and crappie.

Fishing & White Water Fun
This is the stretch of the river known for its whitewater canoeing with several good rapids but nothing that would keep a family from enjoying a float together. For more challenging white water adventure you can try the nearby Glover River, Oklahoma’s last wild and scenic river. The Glover has very challenging white water in season.

The stretch of river in the tailwaters of the Broken Bow Lake dam is famous for its world class trout fishing. The prime habitat stretches 14 miles downstream and the first 3.8 miles is a trophy section where barbed hooks and boats are prohibited.

Above the dam Broken Bow Lake is well known for its sport fishing. The lake has been mentioned by FLW Outdoors Magazine as one of the best bass fisheries in America!

ATV / 4 Wheeler / Mountain Bike Fun
McCurtain County is quickly becoming known as a mountain bike and “4 Wheeler Friendly” destination. Much of our county is covered with state or federally maintained forests including the Ouachita National Forest and the Three Rivers - Honobia Creek Wildlife Management Areas. There are miles and miles of forest roads and trails to ride!

While we reserve our 300 private acres for enjoyment on foot the area immediately surrounding Riverbank Cabins is also great country to ride your ATV or mountain bike. We are surrounded by forested property maintained by the forest products companies and we can help you find the best areas to ride your ATV’s and 4 wheelers.

Watchable Wildlife
Our riverfront location surrounded by thousands of acres of forests, pastures and wetlands offers a unique opportunity for wildlife watching. Southeast Oklahoma is home to abundant game and a diverse collection of migratory birds. Don’t be surprised if you look out over the river from your covered patio and see a bald eagle land nearby!

Lake Sports, Hunting & Scenic Beauty
McCurtain County is well known for its outdoor fun. Broken Bow Lake is a large, deep lake surrounded by mountains and offers all kinds of boating, skiing, swimming and sailing. Boat docks, rentals and supplies are available.

The area is also known for abundant hunting for native game including wild turkey, quail, deer and other game animals.

Beavers Bend Resort Park is one of Oklahoma’s most popular resort areas. The park is a large pine forest covered area surrounding Broken Bow Lake and the Mountain Fork River. It offers hiking, trout fishing and features the Forest Heritage Center Museum detailing the history and heritage of the forests of Southeast Oklahoma. The park also features a totem pole sculpture by artist Peter Wolf Toth.
